SAHARA is a larger framed iceberg which produces medium sized heads through the warmer months.
SAHARA preforms well in central areas (Horowhenua/Nelson) as a late spring/early summer harvest variety and in more northern regions from the heat of summer out into the end of autumn.
SAHARA shows strong tolerance to bolting and the larger frame gives it plenty of vigour in the transition from the heat of summer into the cool of autumn.
SAHARA is up-to a week later to mature than current market standards in the heat of summer due to its large frame but will produce a very high cut out rate.
Due to its versatility many growers will find a wide, warm season, window for SAHARA.
SAHARA has resistance to fusarium commonly present in the warm harvest window.
