MATADOR is an extremely vigorous cool/cold season variety suited to late winter and spring harvest.
MATADOR is a ‘Vanguard’ type with a heavily blistered leaf and is able to withstand frosts due to its large frame.
MATADOR is a sure-heading variety which provides for a uniform harvest and a high cut-out of consistently large, round heads.
Given it is a sure-heading type, MATADOR will reliably produce heads during periods of more mild weather during late spring – a regular issue with older varieties.
MATADOR forms round heads that sit up off of the ground allowing for ease of harvest. MATADOR has shown excellent tolerance to mildew and anthracnose.
