SENCHA is a large cos in the Maladona style with an open growing habit and long, narrow leaves making it an ideal choice for both processing and sleeving. With the added advantage of a high leaf count SENCHA is ideal for processors looking to ‘chop’ for Caesar mixes and has a dense midrib. Being of a midgreen colour SENCHA provides a high amount of usable leaf with a more uniform colour from leaf tip down into the centre. If left long enough SENCHA will eventually close, but this late closing also ensures a strong tolerance to tipburn and bolting. SENCHA is suitable for year round harvest. SENCHA has a strong disease package BI:1-28, 30-32, Nr(0).
